Empowered Christians

Scripture: Acts 1:8
MEANING OF EMPOWER
- Give (someone) the authority or power to do something.
- Make (someone) stronger and more confident, especially in controlling their life and claiming their rights.
Today, empoweroften refers to helpingsomeonerealize their abilities and potential, perhaps for the first time.
This is achieved through Knowledge transfer, character development (the mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual) and delegated tasks.
The word Empowered in acts 1:8 will come out clearly, if you understand the context in-terms of the promise and the author. As Christians today, we are expected to experience the work of the Holy Spirit just like it happened to the Apostles and the early Church.
The Holy Spirit empowers us through three areas:
DIVINE TRUTH (WISDOM AND REVELATION)
The Holy Spirit empowers us by revealing to us the truth about God and his plan as well as how we fit into the Kingdom agenda.
DIVINE CHARACTER (FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT)
The Holy Spirit refines our character by transforming our weak bodies and molds us to be Christ like which contributes immensely to our work of being witness to Christ.
DIVINE TASKS (GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT)
The Holy Spirit endows us with gifts, moves and directs us into action and commissions to specific tasks in the Kingdom of God.
