An Excellent Spirit- Prayerful

Scripture: John 17 & Mark 1:35-39

35Before daybreak the next morning, Jesus got up and went out to an isolated place to pray.36Later Simon and the others went out to find him.37When they found him, they said, “Everyone is looking for you.”

38But Jesus replied,“We must go on to other towns as well, and I will preach to them, too. That is why I came.”39So he traveled throughout the region of Galilee, preaching in the synagogues and casting out demons. Mark 1:35-39 NLT

Prayer I a spiritual discipline that Jesus Christ modelled for us

In John 17

  1. Jesus prayed for Himself 17:1-5
  2. Jesus Prayed for disciples (Followers) 17: 6-19
  3. Jesus prayed for all believers (Present & Future) 17: 20-26

1. “If the spiritual life be healthy, under the full power of the Holy Spirit, praying without ceasing will be natural, Beware in your prayers, above everything else, of limiting God, not only by unbelief, but by fancying that you know what He can do. Expect unexpected things ‘above all that we ask or think” Andrew Murray

A Christian that does not pray, is like a child that refuses to communicate with their loving parent, yearning to know

The parents will, unable to since communication has been hindered.
