INNOCENT

Scripture: Luke 7:36-50

³⁷Now there was a woman in the city who was [known as] a^[a]sinner; and^[b]when she found out that He was recliningat the tablein the Pharisee’s house, she brought an alabaster vial of perfume;³⁸and standing behind Him at His feet, weeping, she began wetting His feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head, and [respectfully] kissed His feet [as an act signifying both affection and submission] and^[c]anointed them with the perfume.³⁹Now when [Simon] the Pharisee who had invited Him saw this, he said to himself, “If this Man were a prophet He would know who and what sort of woman this is who is touching Him, that she is a [notorious] sinner [an outcast, devoted to sin].” Luke 7:36-39 Amp

⁴⁷Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much; but he who is forgiven little, loves little.” Luke 7:47

Sin leads to guilt, some try to justify themselves through;

1. Justification by good works
2. Justification by religious background
3. Justification by comparison

Colossians 2:13-14 (NKJV)

Clarifies that while we were dead in our trespasses, Christ made us alive . ¹⁴having wiped out the^[a]handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.
